Cleaning Guidelines for Preventing the Spread of COVID-19-163

We take the health and safety our our guests and owners very seriously.  Similar to the rest of the world, in the presence of the pandemic we have adapted our regular operations to accommodate the new normal. 

As a short term rental management agency superior cleaning services of our properties has always been of the utmost priority. This has not changed. However, we want to assure you we have revisited our cleaning routines to ensure they are in conformance with the CDC Coronavirus (Covid-19) Disease Guidelines for Cleaning and Disinfecting Your Home as well as Airbnb’s Cleaning Guidelines for Preventing the Spread of Covid-19.

Cleaning is now more important than ever and we are taking the following steps to prevent spread of infection to minimize risk to our cleaners, guests and property owners.

Enhanced Cleaning Routine:

  •  Ventilating rooms before they are cleaned.
  •  Wearing disposable gloves while cleaning and washing laundry.
  • Washing hands before and after each clean according to proper hand washing techniques.
  •  Cleaning then disinfecting with new cleaning cloths for each guest.
  • Not reusing cloths, mops and sponges when cleaning space for new guest.
  • Disinfecting with the correct disinfectant as registered with the Environmental Protection Agency, diluted solutions of household bleach or 70% alcohol paying attention to frequently touched surfaces such as door knobs, light switches, remote controls, and faucet handles.
  • Removing dirt and grime from porous surfaces such as sofas, rugs and drapes.
  • Washing and drying all linens at the highest heat setting recommended by manufacturer.
  • Cleaning and disinfecting all laundry baskets and hampers.
  • Emptying the vacuum cleaner after each cleaning.
  • Cleaning and wiping down all small and large appliances with disinfectant.
  • In addition to our regular routine of cleaning and disinfecting all hard surfaces, the following items will also be added to a general checklist:
    • door knobs
    • light switches
    • remote controls
    • fan and lamp switches
    • window sill and window handles
    • thermostats
    • keys
    • hair dryers
    • railings
    • ironing board and irons
    • garbage and recycling bins
  • In addition to our regular routine of cleaning and disinfecting all hard surfaces, the following items will also be added to a kitchen checklist:
    • sinks
    • cabinet handles and pulls
    • condiments and spice containers
    • hard backed chairs
  • In addition to our regular routine of cleaning and disinfecting all hard surfaces, the following items will also be added to a bathroom checklist:
    • shampoo, conditioner, body wash and soap dispensers
  • In addition to our regular routine of cleaning and disinfecting all hard surfaces, the following items will also be added to a bedroom checklist:
    • hangers and luggage racks
  • In addition to our regular routine of cleaning and disinfecting all hard surfaces, the following items will also be added to a childrens checklist:
    • toys
    • portable cribs and playpens
    • high chairs
    • games
    • books
Other Precautions:
  • Continuing to offer self check in and check out to encourage social distancing.
  •  Avoiding routine maintenance during guest stay to encourage social distancing.
  •  Ensuring our properties are well stocked with hand soap, tissues, paper towel and toilet paper.
  • Extra towels and sheets for guests that would like to clean up after themselves. 
We continue to monitor the situation and any new developments closely and pass that information over to our cleaners, guests and property owners.
